Drive In & Drive Thru Pallet Racking

Drive-In Racking Systems:

  • Suitable for fragile skid loads which cannot be double stacked
  • Idea for cold storage
  • No specialized lift trucks needed
  • Lowest cost / high density storage
  • Uses less vertical height, may allow for an extra pallet level

Drive-Thru Racking Systems:

  • Each system is individually designed
  • Low cost / high density storage
  • Significant savings of floor space
  • Ideal for freezer applications
  • Uses less vertical height, may allow for an extra pallet level

Drive-In Racking System

Drive-in pallet racking systems work to allow for the fast transportation of products on a pallet-in/pallet-out basis, as it is specifically designed to allow for each bay to be dedicated to a single product and/or lot number. This type of pallet racking is ideal for both commercial and industrial facilities, especially those with a higher number of skids and a lower number of product lines, or where floor space is hard to come by.

Some of the applications and industries that drive-in pallet racking systems are ideal for include:

  • Warehouse applications
  • Shops
  • Factories
  • Truck terminals
  • Automotive industry
  • Electronic industry

All drive-in pallet racking systems are designed to provide effective space with a significant reduction in pick slots, and since each tunnel can only store a single product, storage density can be doubled across fewer aisles. This type of pallet racking uses the last-in, first-out principle, allowing for pallet loading and retrieval from the same aisle. Drive-in pallet racking systems allow for forklift drivers to drive into the racking lanes in order to load or retrieve pallets, which are stored on full-length load rails in a safe and seamless manner.

Drive-in pallet racking systems are ideal for cold storage purposes or for storing fragile skid loads that cannot be double stacked. While this type of pallet racking uses less vertical height than other systems, it offers a high-density storage solution for the lowest cost. Drive-in pallet racking systems can best help maximize storage space when placed against walls or building columns, and do not require the use of specialized lift trucks.

Drive-Thru Racking System

Drive-thru pallet racking systems are similar to drive-in pallet racking systems as they are designed to allow for each bay to be dedicated to a single type of product; however, this type of pallet racking system allows for faster product transportation than any other type of pallet racking. With each system individually designed, all drive-thru pallet racking systems are ideal for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.

This type of pallet racking system is designed to allow for pallet loading and retrieval from aisles at either end of the racking and works best on a first-in/first-out principle. While drive-thru pallet racking does require main aisles at each end of the storage system, it does help create significant savings in term of floor space.

Just like with drive-in pallet racking, drive-thru pallet racking systems are ideal for cold storage applications, providing high-density storage at a low cost. While drive-thru pallet racking systems use less vertical height than some other types of pallet racking, they may allow for an extra pallet level if needed.
