CFB RP Ops Tool Crib Storage Upgrade

The Problem:

During our site visit to the base RP Ops tool crib, we noticed a number of issues with the current central workstation.

The central workstation is constructed out of multiple cabinets of varying heights, with home made benches and overhead cabinets.

Drawers are facing multiple directions, the work surface minimal, the capacity of the overhead cabinets is limited, the interface of all the storage is causing congestion.

The Solution:

Provide a Rousseau unified corner workstation system.

Make the entire workstation at the same height to give more work surface area.

Have two sets of drawers accessed from the operator side to be more user friendly and efficient.

Incorporate utility panels for better organization and misc. item storage.

Supply heavy duty overhead locking cabinets for larger secured storage.

The Problem:

It was also noted during our visit that there was some dangerous / hazardous storage of

industrial tools such as pipe wrenches, C Clamps, chain hoists and cable pullers.

These items were hung off pipes and shelf edges and in some cases were hanging on

precariously. The customer advised that there were some incidents of items falling off.

The shelving had no adjustment options so there was some dead storage space not utilized.

Also, the depth of the shelving was not maximized. Products were being stored left to right on one continuous rod, as a result the storage capacity was limited.

The Solution:

Provide a Rousseau storage system to safely store their products and maximize their storage capacity.

We provided R2V Vertical Storage to safely store tools that could be hung on utility panels with hooks. This pull-out method of storage allowed them to maximize the depth of the storage and increase capacity.

The middle of the Rousseau storage system was designed to have a large drawer to handle oversize and odd shaped tool storage. Because of Rousseau’s heavy-duty drawers and 400 lb capacity there were no issue storing these heavy components.

As added flexibility / options we also gave them some shelf storage and lockable doors.

The Conclusion:

We were able to provide CFB a more user friendly and efficient workstation that allowed them to effectively use their workspace.

In addition, we were able to eliminate a hazardous condition and provide a safer storage method while maximizing their storage capacity.

These additions and changes have been well received by the CFB team members.
